KATA photo competition & calendar
are you snap happy?
Like your dates well-organised? Then the KATA 2025 calendar competition is for you?
This year we want to celebrate our three fabulously tranquil sites by giving you the opportunity to submit a photograph into our competition. The winning entries will be used to produce a quality, full colour, professionally printed 2025 calendar. How marvellous.
What entries are you looking for?
We want photos of your allotment, your produce, your favourite tools, wildlife seen on your plot or one of our sites, plot holders or their families helping out and enjoying time on their patches or having a cuppa in their shed. There aren’t fixed categories, so just use your imagination.
Can I submit more than one image?
Yes! Submit as many as you like, the more the merrier and the more chance you have of being included in the calendar.
How do I submit an entry?
We can accommodate all formats, so it doesn’t have to be a file/digital image - it could be a really old one at the back of your drawers…

Does my photo have to have been taken this year?
No! As we want to have a seasonal photo for each month (so sorry, no courgettes in December or sprouts in July) it might be worth trawling your albums and galleries to find images to submit for the months of November to May.
When is the closing date to submit a photo?
We can accept entries right up to the last day of October.
Who is judging the entries?
The pictures will be scrutinised by a very nice person from the local area.
What will I win?
There will be twelve winners - each of whom will have their image used for an appropriate month on the calendar and they’ll receive a copy of the calendar at the 2024 presentation evening in November. One image will also be deemed the overall best and as well as the above their image will be splashed on the front calendar cover. They’ll be awarded the newly created Coronation Photography Competition cup. Fame awaits!
How can I get one of the calendars?
There will be inspection copies available at this year’s presentation evening and if you like what you see you’ll be able to place an order there and then - they will be printed and delivered in time to be given as Christmas gifts and of course you’ll want one for your shed down on your plot! They will also be available to buy on the KATA website, just in case you can’t make it to the presentation evening.
Rules
images should be taken on/from one of the three KATA sites and have a clear allotment theme
if you submit an image to us you will be deemed to have given us permission to use it on both the calendar and the KATA website
images containing children will need to be approved for submission by their carers and you’ll need to allow us to verify this
